Joining With Ohhhmmmm: Revolutionary ImproVerse Free Verse

July 8, 2013

Ohhhmmmmm in Lake Winneconne at SunsetThe aboriginal digereedoo,
the tribal plains call,
the ohmmm of India and China.

The harmonic

Floating on my back
in Winneconne,
with my ears covered
by lake water,
facing the sunset,
“Wenn yaa! Wenn yaa hummmmmmm”
feels in harmony with

Don’t Ever Not Dance: Revolutionary ConTEXTing Sonnet

April 2, 2011

I’ve been writing conTEXTing poetry for several years, but this is the first time I’ve been able to create a ConTEXTing Sonnet, forcing the sonnet’s abab / cdcd/ efef /gg rules into the 160 character limit of my cell phone’s text message/SMS limits

Don’t ever/
not dance,/
lest U never/
get that chance./

Try 2 hear/
the Universe say/
don’t fear/
2 give smiles away./

Grasp/
a chance/
2 gasp/
in romance./

U wait?/
2 late.

Why I Write: Revolutionary IMprov Sonnet

March 9, 2011

I write because
I can’t stop.
It feels like me
to birth word-thoughts

Live into the universe,
screaming like newborns
with energy, life
and emotion.

If I were to cease,
like a woman in mid-labor cries,
I would scream in agony,
convulse, and die.

Not wanting to be found dead,
I choose to dream and write instead.

What If 4 Once: Revolutionary ConTEXTing Iambic Poem

October 14, 2010

What if,/
4 once,/
relationships stayed?/
What if,
4 once,/
nobody strayed?/
What if,
4 once,/
the Universe obeyed/
our innermost desire/
2 hold passion’s fire/
4 once?

If the Universe/
suddenly knocks at your door,/
learn how to answer!

(OR)
If the Universe/
suddenly knocks at your door,/
learn to say “Yes, please!”

(OR)
If the Universe/
suddenly knocks at your door,/
please welcome him in.

Dark Man, Center Of Her Universe: Romantic ConTEXTing Poetry

August 16, 2010

Written for a friend, to her husband who was away on a business trip:

Dark man, center of my universe:
We look at the stars the same,
the moon the same.

Tomorrow you and I will be together;
though apart, you carry my heart.
