I watched as
Her fingers traced
tenderness,
love,
caring,
and devotion
across her husband’s
weary,
White-shirted back.
Her head leaned
into his burdened shoulder
And she squeezed
His tired muscles
as a contented,
peaceful
smile
danced across her face.
I watched as
Her dainty left hand,
with love-banded heart finger,
Lifted his cares,
Struggles,
the weighted scales
Of dragons fought,
And thorns fought through,
And made them naught.
Oh, Women!
Wives!
Please know
the healing power
Of your caring touch!
Oh, Men!
Husbands
of such companions!
Fall on your knees
And prayerfully weep
with deep
gratitude
for these loving women,
your godly partners.
For are there are many
of us
who weep
bitter tears,
having never known
nor felt
nor been lifted
nor raised up
by such
an elevating touch.

Our kindness and love/
towards others comes from knowing/
how much God loves us.
OR

Sometimes the opportunity comes to self-evaluate. I think if you say something profound about yourself, you should capture and share it… where others can agree (or disagree!)
1) I’m not rich
2) I’m not overly handsome
3) I’m extremely generous with what I have, but I don’t have much.
4) What I have, including time, creativity, spirituality, romance, the ability to goo, poetry, humor, caring, charity, helping, a kind and generous heart, an uplifting and helpful spirit, I have given and will give with all my heart.

I struggle
to be with you.
It’s intense
to stand near you.
It’s overwhelming
to speak with you.
I am overcome
because I see you.
More than what the mirror
shows back to you.
More than what friends
and family tell you.
The light in your eyes.
The joy in your smile.
The radiance of your face.
Your witty, wise, wonderful words.
Your deep, soulful spirit.
Your kindness.
The way your hair blows in the breeze
as you skim across the lake.
The way your body strongly yet gently
moves, leaving men in your wake.
The way you are open to all good,
and the way you give good to all.
I shake my head in amazement,
awe,
and joy,
and am overcome with happiness
that I am part of your world;
part of a world which has you in it,
part of an experience that comes
when I see you.
I wonder if this is how God
sees all of us?

I’m glad you moved on,
and clicked the “meet me” button.
That means you’re available,
even if you’re just up the hill.
I won’t use forbidden words
You’ve so often heard
to describe you.
They must chide you.
Instead, I’ll offer my selfless heart.
With that kindness, that’s how I’ll start:
Give of my giving self
to pull you off your shelf.
A spontaneous creative man with a young soul,
coupled with a similar woman: Come on, let’s go!

Safe. Comfortable. Peaceful. Content.
Relaxed. Harmonic. In tune.
All these things were my bent.
All these feelings were my view
of myself and how I am …
but they’re not how I’m seen
as a man
by women’s majority.
Instead, I am caffinated.
Intense. Aggressive. Mind-boggling.
Assertive. Opinionated.
Too much. Exhausting.
Why? Because I want so much
to show I understand;
to “be in touch”
more than any other man.
It’s about what women feel.
when they don’t have a safe feeling.
Although my caring is real;
they run, they fight, they send me reeling.
And me? I always try
to understand.
I ask why
and show I’m a caring man.
But the reason isn’t important.
They may not even know
why they don’t feel safely bent.
They just know it’s so.
I’m learning to get
the patience of Job.
To not try to vett
my feelings, nor to probe.
But simply to accept them
and be a safe place,
and as I learn to let them,
women will embrace
not only me
but the kindness they see.
