Keeping My Goal: Revolutionary Blogging Poem

June 5, 2011

Hands chilled,
I wait for the sun
to drift past
boats,
ducks,
docks,
riprap rocks,
to warm my keyboard.

As dawn comes
to a near-silent lake
(the 6:01 a.m. to Dallas flys overhead
and the first waterskiers jet out
to meet the waking,
wakeless lake),
I look at site stats.

No one viewed me today.
(She had a busy night.)
I catch up
on poetry written
but not blogged.
Yesterday’s busy sunshine
grew weeds,
lawn,
strawberry plants,
tomatoes to plant,
roses to water,
rhubarb to harvest,
and one,
lone
poem,
published a minute before
midnight.

My one-a-day
goal
remains intact,
not on purpose,
but just
in fact.

My hands remain numb
as I wait for the sun
to come.

I extend/

but she’s not found./

A casual tourist,/
she seeks/
another’s view./
I retreat.

Sometimes Writing Is Joyous, Sometimes … Not: Revolutionary ConTEXTing Poetry

May 16, 2011

Words float,/
rise in my mind,/
fall from my hands./

They see-saw,/
tottering back and forth,/
from creative joy/
2 task/
2 drudgery./

If no1 reads them,
do poems exist?

Standing On The Edge: Romantic IMprov Sonnet

March 10, 2011

As she stands
at such a precipice,
dare I extend my hand
at a risky time like this?

Is she dangling
dangerously?
Or merely trying
a better view to see?

Will my reaching out
block her enthusiasm
as she removes her doubt
and leaps across the chasm?

I will retreat and offer no assistance
until I’m certain I’ll meet no resistence.

The Pleasure: Romantic IMprov Limerick

November 15, 2010

Can’t a woman just like me for my mind…
instead of the inevitable pleasure they will find
at my hand?
Can’t they understand
the mind’s more divine?
