When Women Criticize Guys Romantic Efforts: A Revolutionary Blogging Poem

April 26, 2010

A friend’s Blog, EekHarmony, had a statement about romantic efforts by guys: “I humbly submit
http://www.todayandtomorrow.net/2010/04/13/love-injections/ for the pleasure of the many rapier wits on this site. Fabulously cool or frighteningly creepy?” My comment on the blog was:

If I, as
a rapier wit
was criticized
for writing or doing romance (or something like it) …
I’d quit.

Beyond fabulously cool.
Think of the synapses
which have to be connected
to make creative love passes.

Any guy who at least tries?

Intense Romance Makes Sense: Revolutionary Sonnet

April 22, 2010

I’ve mellowed my romance,
yet I’m still too intense.
In baseball parlance,
I keep swinging for the fence …

and striking out.
I’m not certain what I want;
I’m not certain what that’s about.
I guess I should (mixing metaphors) just punt.

I once knew a woman
who was as enthused as could be.
Sometimes I think about her. Damn!
She was intense about ME!

The women I meet lately claim they have dreams;
But no one wants to put the effort in, it seems.
