What to say to a mother: revolutionary improverse poetry

After a few years
of watching a similar mother
fight a similar battle,
for her similar child,
I thought I would know better
what to say.

But I don’t.
And I hope I don’t get it wrong.

“You are in my prayers.”
That’s all I know how to say.
And I say them for you, both,
both at the beginning
and at the end
of every day.
